Halle Welter
Yearbook Journalism
About Me
I am Halle Welter. I attend Grand Blanc High School as a senior. I am a copy editor on the Echo Yearbook Staff. I have been on the staff for 3 years, 1 as a staffer, 2 as a copy editor. This means that I have dedicated 5 out of the 24 high school courses to this yearbook.
I got my inspiration from my sister, Hope, who was the copy editor before me. I plan to further my journalism career at Michigan State University.

Yearbook has taught me so much. I came to this high school as someone who was shy and would get embarrassed over the smallest things. With yearbook, it took me out of my shell and helped me be more daring. I have met so many people with all different life stories. It has made me curious and brave. When I interview people, I now talk to them as if I am their friend getting to know them, rather than a journalist asking for their story. When I edit stories, I have seen staffers evolve and that is a very great feeling knowing I have helped their writing skills.

With photography, I have learned how to pose my subject in a way that they will feel comfortable. I now know how to use a camera in a studio, outside, with a still subject, and with someone/something that is moving.
